The pre-Master's programme is a transfer and bridging programme for students from a University of Applied Sciences (HBO) or for students with a university bachelor's degree who wish to obtain a university Master's degree, but cannot be admitted directly. Once you’ve successfully completed the pre-Master's programme, you’ll be granted admission to the Master’s programme Industrial Design Engineering (IDE).
When you apply for the Master IDE via Studielink, the admission committee will decide if you are admitted directly to the Master or if a pre-Master is a prerequisite.
The starting date of the pre-Master's programme is in September. After finishing your pre-Master successfully, you can directly enter the Master's programme. Minor students can enter the master in February or September after finishing the pre-Master's programme.
For HBO students
A pre-Master's programme contains 30 credits. This is a fulltime study programme of one semester and the content depends on your background.

The study workload, or number of EC the pre-Master’s programme for university students consists of, depends on your previous education and will not be the same for everyone. Pre-Master’s programmes for university students range between 15-60 EC.
The pre-Master's programme is taught entirely in English as is the required literature.
Whether you are eligible for admission to the pre-Master's programme IDE depends on your previous education and on your grades. HBO students are admitted based on their overall results (average of 7.5* or higher on the bachelor courses, and an 8 or higher for the final project). You will be admitted to the master if you successfully complete the pre-Master within a year. (*Without the internship and final project)
