3D Print Strategy & Business Development at

At the University of Twente I studied Educational Science and Technology. I finished my master thesis at the department of Instrumentation Technology with a focus on 'Open Computer Supported Collaborative Work' (in august '99).

At this moment I work at is a website where people can find and share 3D designs for 3D printing. Worldwide there is an increasing interest in 3D printing in the classroom and YouMagine is rapidly growing with international students and teachers from all over the world.

One of the projects I am involved in, is the '3Ducation'-project in the Netherlands, where 24 schools (with students from age 6 tot 16) are introducing an UltiMaker 3D printer in the curriculum. The Dutch 3D printer company UltiMaker has won many international Awards, because of the print quality and ease of use.

It is my role to 'teach-the-teacher', by offering guidance about how to implement 3D Design and 3D Printing in the classroom. I also support teachers in designing and developing new educational materials. Together with the Knowledge Center for Science & Technology (Kenniscentrum voor Wetenschap en Techniek Gelderland) we are preparing parts of the new curriculum that teachers can use, starting in schoolyear 2015-2016.
