Get equipped to become a teacher in secondary (Dutch) education and share your knowledge of science subjects in school!
Teachers play an important role in the development of children and young adults – and can even be a determining factor for their future. You probably had a teacher yourself as well whose lessons you still remember vividly – and who may have even inspired you to choose a particular study. Would you like to fulfil this multifaceted and crucial role yourself? Do you have a passion for a science subject, such as mathematics, chemistry, physics, informatics or the Dutch school subject ‘onderzoek & ontwerpen’? And do you want to share your knowledge and enthusiasm with students at Dutch secondary schools? Then the Master’s in Science Education & Communication at the University of Twente is the teacher education programme for you!
This (partly) Dutch-taught programme will prepare you for a job as a teacher in mathematics, chemistry, physics, informatics or the Dutch school subject ‘onderzoek & ontwerpen’. After graduation, you will have a first-degree teaching qualification that enables you to teach all types of secondary education in the Netherlands, including upper-level HAVO (senior general secondary education) and VWO (pre-university secondary education).
