The Twente Graduate School (TGS) offers an introductory programme consisting of a two day PhD / EngD Workshop including a mandatory Scientific Integrity programme and a related assignment. The introductory programme is aimed at recently started PhD / EngD candidates and is a must for all UT doctoral candidates.

Topics are:

scientific integrity;
ethical perspectives and related approvals;
some info pitches;
self-study about knowledge safety, and
as of October 2026, open science

This two day Introductory Workshop is free of charge and applies to all categories of new doctoral candidates (AIOs, scholarship holders, contract and external PhD candidates as well as EngD candidates), and irrespective of your registration / participation in a specific TGS programme.

Dates
The course is offered 3 times a year. Check the available course dates on the page below.
ECTS
A single course certificate of 1.5 EC will be issued for the participation on the (online) TGS Introductory Workshop and the successful completion of the Academic Integrity course.
Requirements
Please note that participation in this introductory workshop is compulsory. It should be taken in the beginning of the doctoral phase.
