Gerrit Brem: UT outpost in ZwolleDespite having officially retired, professor of energy technology Gerrit Brem still felt the itch to get involved again. He didn’t want to sit still and saw many opportunities in the collaboration between the Zwolle region and the University of Twente. From last autumn, he has acted as an advance outpost within that collaboration. The Professor de Winter award goes to Libera FresielloThe UT winner of the Professor de Winter award 2024 has been announced. The award is for Dr. Ir. Libera Fresiello, assistant professor in the Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiology (CRPH) group, the Faculty of Applied Sciences, and the research institute TechMed. Fresiello won the award for her article: 'A patient-specific ultrasound soft robotic left ventricle (ventricle) embedded in a closed-loop cardiovascular simulator for advanced device testing.' This article appeared in APL Bioengineering, a highly regarded scientific journal of AIP Publishing. The award will be handed out during the Dies in November, at the same time as the Professor de Winter award 2025 ceremony.Read more
