Certificates

Do you want to wrap up your seminar, course, section or masterclass with a certificate of participation to give to your participants? The Traffic Team has created a handy template that lets you create a professional-looking certificate in no time.

Follow this step-by-step plan to create certificates:

  1. Download the zip file. It contains two Word documents; you can choose a landscape or portrait certificate.
  2. Open the preferred version of these two formats.
  3. Select the language by switching between Certificate and Certificaat at the top.
  4. Fill in the pre-defined fields with the relevant details. Make sure to double-check for any typos or formatting issues.
  5. Save the completed certificate: Then, save the file as a PDF to keep the layout consistent when printing.

Tip: If you’re creating multiple certificates, consider saving a version for each participant using their name in the file name (e.g. Certificate_Anna_Jansen.pdf) so they’re easy to find later.

Various formats and guidelines

Below, you can download various formats of the UT logo and the logos of the UT Institutes TechMed Centre, Mesa+ Institute & Digital Society Institute) for both print and online use.

Logo University of Twente (various formats)

The University of Twente uses the English-language logo exclusively. This logo is available in two variants: a single-line version and a stacked version. The stacked version is the preferred choice.

If the available space is too limited for the stacked logo to remain legible, the single-line version may be used. However, this alternative is not intended for standard house-style applications and should only be used in exceptional cases where the preferred version does not fit.

Guidelines

When placing the logo, make sure to:

  • Leave enough white space around it, as shown below. This indicates how the logo is positioned related to the edge of the page
  • Choose a white or black version that contrasts well with the background
  • Position it at the bottom-right of any communication material

Logos of institutes (various formats)

Below, you can download the logos of the UT Institutes (TechMed Centre, Mesa+ Institute & Digital Society Institute) in various formats, for both print as online use.

Corporate combination logo

The University of Twente corporate combination logo is exclusively intended for faculties, services and professional groups. This combination logo is available on request via the Traffic department.

For designers, this means that when positioning the logo, you must ensure that:

  • There is adequate white space around the logo;
  • The colour of of the logo (white/black) is harmonised with the background to create a good contrast;
  • The logo is placed at the bottom-right in any communication materials.

Please leave enough white space around the logo as shown here:

Tips for a good presentation
  • Choose a clear storyline with a clearly defined beginning, middle and end.
  • Tailor your presentation to the target group (not one-size-fits-all), also consider tone-of-voice, style, etc.
  • Use related images that are suitable for the target group (images are more appealing than text).
  • Use practical examples that the target group can relate to.
  • Practice delivering your presentation in advance and ask for feedback.
  • Ensure ‘it’ is polished: your presentation (house style/template) and yourself.
  • Engage with your audience within the first minute.
  • Ensure variation: tell and ask, play with emotions and speed, go a little faster and a little slower at times.
  • Organise breaks during long presentations.
Support
