Information about elections of the various participation bodies at the UT and the UT Electoral Committee.
This election page provides current information about upcoming or recently held elections for both the University Council and the decentralised bodies in the faculties and services.
General information
When are the elections?
From 16 to 20 June 2025, you can once again take part in the student elections for the University Council and Faculty Council. At TNW there are also elections for employees as the term of election is not yet equal to the UT-wide standard term for employees.
Why is voting important?
Your voice is crucial for strong student representation. This is the only way you can make a difference and strengthen the position of students (and employees) at the UT. By participating in the elections, you choose who best represents your interests in areas such as good education, better student housing and student facilities that you need for an optimal study experience.
What do the University Council and Faculty Council do?
They are the main participation bodies within your university. They actively push for various issues such as improved education, expansion of study places, increasing student welfare and social safety. These councils play a crucial role by assessing the policies of both the Executive Board and Faculty Boards. They take initiatives themselves and make proposals to strengthen the position of students (and employees). Their commitment is essential for a better and more inclusive university community. Who deserves your vote?
Below is an overview of candidates for the University Council and the faculty councils TNW, ET and BMS. At EEMCS there will be no elections as the number of seats are equal to the number of candidates.
How to vote?
On Monday 16 June 2025, you will receive an e-mail from the polling station with a link to the voting programme. This link will also be shared on the student portal, Instagram and Facebook.
The results of the elections 2025 will be announced on Friday 20 June at 16:00 hrs. at the O+O square (University of Twente) by drs. S.C.P.A. Wichman. Location: platform in front of the Zilverling.
