Robotics and Mechatronics

The research carried out within the Robotics and Mechatronics group is centered around the theme of robotics in inspection and medical applications. Medical-related projects focus on tele-operated robotic surgery, and hand and lower-limb prostheses. The group chair is also collaborating with other groups within MIRA on issues related to rehabilitation robotics.

Within these application fields, the expertise spans from embedded technology to sensor and actuators, modelling, and control. There are numerous collaborations with clinicians and industrial partners. The group chair is the lead initiator of the LEO Center for Service Robotics whose activities are closely related to MIRA.
