The BMS lab will show the possibilities of Virtual Reality. VR is an online environment in which a realistic situation is imitated. This offers opportunities for both entertainment and research. The BMS lab supports researchers in their studies in which Virtual Reality plays a role.
Ransomware. You hear it everywhere, but how exactly does it work? During the festival it is possible to experience a ransomware attack yourself at the ESET booth. Through set-up systems you crawl into the eyes of an attacker and encrypt a victim's system. Usually and also now this starts with a phishing email. Are you there?
In addition, various information stands will be set up and there will be poster presentations by the Master Risk Management students. By means of posters, they give a short explanation of their thesis and the issue they have dealt with.

Het BMS-lab laat de mogelijkheden zien van Virtual Reality. VR is een online omgeving waarin een realistische situatie wordt nagebootst. Dit biedt mogelijkheden voor zowel entertainment als onderzoeksdoeleinden. Het BMS lab ondersteunt onderzoekers in hun studies waarin Virtual Reality een rol speelt.
Ransomware. Je hoort het overal, maar hoe werkt het nu precies? Tijdens het festival is het mogelijk om bij de ESET stand zelf een ransomware aanval te ervaren. Door middel van opgezette systemen kruip jij in de ogen van een aanvaller en versleutel jij een slachtoffersysteem. Doorgaans en ook nu begint dit bij een phishing e-mail. Ben jij erbij?
Daarnaast wordt er ruimte geboden aan diverse informatiestands en zijn er posterpresentaties van de Master Risicomanagement studenten. Door middel van posters geven zij een korte toelichting over zijn/haar scriptie en welk vraagstuk ze behandeld hebben.

Much research is being done in the broad field of risk management. To encourage that, the Risk Management Study Award was established in 1994. All papers produced for study purposes (individual or group work) are eligible for the award. Separate awards are given for bachelors and for masters.
