Psychology introduces enrolment restriction

As of the 2022-2023 academic year, the bachelor's programme in Psychology will admit a maximum of 350 students. In addition, the Positive Clinical Psychology & Technology master's specialisation will also get a maximum number of students. This specialisation will receive 70 places per September and 70 per February.

In recent years, there has been an upward trend in the influx of new students for both programmes. This influx is expected to increase even further. The selection is necessary to guarantee the quality of both programmes. "Our psychology programme is known as the best in the Netherlands," says programme director Mariëlle Stel.

SELECTION SPECIALISATION

For the Positive Clinical Psychology & Technology specialisation, selection is based on intrinsic motivation, technology in mental health care skills, communication and reflection skills and relevant earlier achievements. If a student is not selected, they can still choose one of the other four unique specialisations. "With the selection for this specialisation and for the bachelor’s programme, we want to preserve the small-scale education in Twente," says Stel.
