Tanya Bondarouk new Dean of Faculty of Behavioural Management and Social Sciences

Prof.dr. Tanya Bondarouk has been appointed by the Executive Board as Dean of the Faculty of Behavioural Management and Social Sciences (BMS) at the University of Twente. As of 1 April 2022, she will succeed Theo Toonen, who has held this position since 2015. The appointment is for a period of four years.

Since 2014, Tanya Bondarouk is Professor of Human Resource Management and Technology at the University of Twente and chair of the HRM department. She leads the interdisciplinary research on HRM, Technology and Innovation. Tanya began her academic career at UT in 1999 as a PhD researcher. In 2004, she was appointed as Assistant Professor and in 2010 as Associate Professor. She continued her academic career at UT and successively became Programme Director of the (International) Business Administration programme(s) in 2011, Full Professor in 2014 and chair of the Management Sciences examination committee in 2015.

Based on her expertise, Tanya is involved in various talent development projects, both within and outside the UT. Within the UT, she is known for the research on Talent Management in Academia and as the co-chair of the Shaping Expert Group 'Individuals and Teams'.

In addition to her work at UT, Tanya is a member of various scientific panels and advisory boards, including those of the NWO, the European Federation for Management Development and the Academy of Finland. Together with Professor Jennifer Herek, she is the co-chair of the UNL Recognition and Rewards committee. She is also a board member of the National Network of Female Professors.  

Tanya Boundarouk herself on her appointment: "It is for me  a great honor to be appointed as the new Dean of the BMS faculty, where I have been working for more than 20 years. I am looking forward to working with everybody at our faculty and the other deans, to help make BMS the very best it can be and to live out its core values of People First, academic rigor, inclusion, integrity, student self-governance, and mutual respect. I believe that all the effort of Theo Toonen and the current faculty board makes it possible now to move towards new steps in talent development of all professionals at BMS, in collaboration with the Executive Board and other UT faculties."
