‘Monitoring Groundwater’ pilot results available

On 11 April, project partners and participating residents of Enschede rounded off the Monitoring Groundwater pilot with a meeting in DesignLab. Those present received a booklet with pilot highlights & recommendations. Both project partners and residents held short talks to highlight technical aspects, participant perspectives, and research results.

About the pilot and its follow-up

Monitoring Groundwater was a short ‘Citizen Science’ trial, coordinated by DesignLab. The pilot meant an innovative approach to groundwater problems in Enschede: smart sensors in monitoring well pipes allowed residents to measure groundwater levels individually, through the ‘Internet of Things’.

Things Network Twente and VRM will continue to support the residents, so they can keep gauging groundwater levels now that the pilot phase has ended. More information on the pilot’s trajectory and follow-up can be found below:
