NWA ORC call 2019 + webinar on 28th March

On Monday the 3rd of March the 2nd NWA-ORC call was published by NWO. The NWA-ORC call is very suitable for mono- as well as multidisciplinary consortia along the whole knowledge chain looking for research and the application of research results along the routes of the Dutch National Science Agenda (NWA, https://wetenschapsagenda.nl/routes/)

Together with the institutes and the Strategic Business Development (SBD) office of the university, we are making an inventory of the initiatives in order to be able to support you.

Inform us about your initiative

In case you are planning to be part of an NWA-ORC initiative, would you please contact l.j.m.blikman@utwente.nl and provide the information below? Additionally, in case you plan to lead an NWA-ORC initiative you will need a support letter signed by the Board of the University of Twente. For this support letter, announcing your initiative to me is necessary as well.

General information about the call

  • Important deadlines:
  • Initiatives should be announced to NWO by 9 May 2019, 14:00 CE(S)T. Pre-proposals should be received by NWO by 6 June 2019, 14:00 CE(S)T. Full proposals should be received by NWO by 16 January 2020, 14:00 CE(S)T.
  • Available budget: 80,5 miljoen Euro.
  • Thematic focus: 25 routes of the NWA (https://wetenschapsagenda.nl/routes/).
  • Research focus: Scientific research, applied research and application of results.
  • 3 budgetranges: 500k-2M, 2M-5M, 5M-10M.
  • Co-funding: a minimal of 10% of the project budget (cash or in-kind).
  • Evaluation procedure (simplified version): announcement of initiatives by researchers, pre-proposal, assessment by committee, selection of pre-proposals by the board of NWO, submission full proposal, referee phase, interviews, prioritization by the committee, decision by the board of NWO.
  • The pre-proposals will be prioritized based on two criteria: I. Fit within the NWA-ORC programme (75% weighting), II. Scientific importance of the proposed project (weighting 25%).
