Next academic year, all of the old (pdf) timetables will be replaced by a new timetable system with a separate website and application. One of the major advantages of this is that you can compose your personal timetable for all the subjects you will be taking. You can subsequently export this timetable to your own agenda on your smartphone, tablet or laptop. The system is currently being tested by a number of students.
Rick Driessen (student of ST): “Exporting your timetable to your own agenda in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook is a major advantage. Cycling to the UT only to find an empty lecture hall will become a thing of the past, because any changes in the timetable will be sent to your smartphone within 15 minutes.”
Nik Huisintveld (student of BMT) sees even more advantages. “The timetable can be shown in a very dynamic way. You can choose how you want your timetable to look: which subjects you want to be displayed or whether only the data of your own project group are shown, for example.”
So far the students are very positive about the new timetable system. Judith Dijkstra (student of TG): “MyTimetable works well and will be further optimised. For some people it will require some getting used to, especially the way it looks is different from the current system. Also, you need to look for the right modules or subjects. It is not difficult but you do have to take some decisions yourself.
Like in previous years, the timetables will be available from 15 July.
