In memoriam: Sujith Rajanna

Last Thursday we received the sad news that our student Sujith Rajanna suddenly passed away on July 11, 2019. Sujith was MSc-student of the programme Mechanical Engineering and was only 27 years old.

Sujith Rajanna was born in Haralur, near Bengaluru, India. He received his bachelor degree from the New Horizon College of Engineering at the Visveswaraya Technological University in India and started his studies at the University of Twente in February 2017. We know Sujith as a quiet, hardworking person. Full of ambition, he came to the Netherlands with the aim to obtain his MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering. Sujith was a respected member of the Indian Student Association (ISA), where he built dear friendships.

We are shocked by his unexpected death. In our thoughts we are with his parents, family and all others who were near and dear to him. We wish them strength and comfort in this time of great loss. Sujith will be deeply missed.

For those who knew Sujith, we offer the opportunity to sign the book of condolences. This  will be placed in the entrance hall of the Horst Building between Monday July 15th and Friday July 26th.  The student support team of the Faculty of Engineering Technology is available for students who knew Sujith or students who are in another way touched by his sudden death, and would like to share their thoughts. Please find the contact information at our website.
