University of Twente Summer Schools in full swing

CuriousU and InspireU have started on the UT campus: two internationally oriented summer schools in a festival-like atmosphere. CuriousU is aimed at university students and professionals, while InspireU is meant for high school pupils. Nearly 400 participants from more than 50 countries are in attendance.

This year marks the fourth edition of CuriousU, which is hosting around 300 participants of 50 different nationalities. The programme is highly diverse, giving the participants a wide range of options. These include academic courses in various fields (from blockchain technology to robotics, and from entrepreneurship to smart cities) along with sporting events and cultural activities. Just like at a music festival, participants sleep in tents on the UT campus. CuriousU 2018 will end on 21 August.

InspireU

The CuriousU event has been so successful, that UT has decided to hold a similar event for high school pupils this year for the first time: InspireU. Some 71 participants ranging in age from 15 to 18 years and from 20 different countries are in attendance. They are studying various topics including nanotechnology, medical imaging, robotics and entrepreneurship. Alongside the academic work, the programme also contains plenty of recreational activities such as guided tours, sports and culture. Some parents are also in attendance, and they are enjoying their own special programme. InspireU 2018 will end on 17 August.
