You are able to search for and manage scientific information, making optimal use of current (technological) possibilities, for research and education purposes.
CONTENT
Systematically searching for scientific information, formulating a problem statement, knowledge and choice of (referring, informing) sources, writing references, reference managers and information management, citation indexes, open access publishing and visibility. These subjects are first treated in general, later focused on the particular search strategy of the participant.

This course wil be offered 6 times per year. 4 times on campus and twice online.
In 2024 the online courses will be in September and October
In 2025 the online courses will be in January and September
The specific time and place of the on campus courses will be shared 2 weeks ahead of time.
Participants will be informed about the course and the preparatory assignments via email and will receive an invite to Canvas.
During the first meeting additional information will be provided in regard to the assignments required to successfully complete the course.
- Time
The course will take 1 whole (mandatory) day and approximately 10 hours home study for the assignments.
- Location
The course will take place on campus. The exact location may vary. You will receive more information about the location before each course starts.
In September and November 2024 the course will be held online.
- Course fee
This training will be paid from central funds. However, if you register and withdraw less than 1 week before it starts, your supervisor will be informed and asked to pay.

English language proficiency at level CEF B2 or higher (Common European Framework) is required.
