Result
In this advanced course, participants will extend their knowledge of Dutch, going from CEF-level B2/C1 to C1. Participants receive a certificate after 80% attendance and if the course portfolio is evaluated positively.
Content
After following the B2/C1 course, you can perfect your language skills in the C1 course. In this course, you will use chapters 5 to 8 from the book Nederlands naar Perfectie and possibly also sources and materials of your own. The course consists of one lesson per week, with the exception of the first week. The first lesson is an introduction lesson of 1 hour were the teacher will give you more information about the set-up of the course.
During the lessons, you will work on your oral language skills under the guidance of your teacher. You can also ask your teacher questions about the self-study programme and about language issues that you encounter in every-day life.
You will be evaluated based on a portfolio, which you have to complete by the end of the course. The portfolio consists of listening and reading tests, speaking and writing assignments and a spoken exam in the final lesson. If the result is satisfactory, this means that you are a highly advanced speaker of Dutch. All you will have to do then is keeping up your skills.
Duration and Time investment
Attendance at every lesson is essential. The course consists of 1 lesson of 1 hour (first lesson) and 10 lessons of two hours.
Please take into account the fact that the course will involve approx. 6 hours of work per week: 4 hours of homework and 2 hours in the practice lesson. Homework is best divided into four times half an hour, which works better than doing everything in one go.
Admission criteria
Admission is granted based on certificates obtained from earlier language courses, in this case, Dutch B2/C1, or an intake exam, which you can register for here.
