- Digital architectureUniversity Information Management (UIM) focuses on the integration of an ICT policy within the organizational objectives, values and culture of the University of Twente. It does this on the basis of architectural principles that are divided into business, application and technology principles. Objective For the integration of the IT policy, UIM draws up a number of architecture principles which meet a set of criteria (understandable, robust, complete, consistent and stable) and which ensure that the architecture provides added value to and fits within the organization. - Information security and privacyThe aim of the information security policy at the UT is to guarantee the continuity of business operations and to minimize any damage caused, through preventing security incidents and minimizing any consequences. Principles Information security is a line responsibility: this means that line managers (departmental heads) bear primary responsibility for good information security in their department/unit. This includes the choice of measures and their implementation and enforcement. Information security is everyone's responsibility. Explain to employees, students, lecturers, and third parties that they are expected to actively contribute to the security of automated systems and the information stored there. This can be done in the appointment letter, during performance reviews, through an institution-wide code of conduct, periodic awareness-raising campaigns, etc. The imposition of sanctions after infringements ensures the credibility of the system. - IT GovernanceUniversity Information Management (UIM) is in charge of the innovation and management of IT provision within the UT. UIM does this in such a way that the ambitions of the UT for education, research, valorization, and operational management are supported effectively and efficiently. UIM advises the Executive Board on the UT's Information and ICT policy and monitors its implementation. UIM is responsible for the process of the IT facilitation demand response at the UT. To this end, it coordinates the consultation between faculty information management, the owners of the institutional systems and the IT service.
