List of example documents

The documents below are examples of the files that we require from students who wish to enter the admission process within the Osiris application. Without the necessary documents, the application cannot be processed.

  • Passport

    Instructions:
    Please upload a valid and clear copy of:

    • the personal pages of your international passport, or
    • back and front of your ID card (EEA students only).

    Note: If you have multiple nationalities and you want those registered, please also upload the valid identity documents of your other nationalities. The University of Twente will only register the nationalities of the uploaded valid identity documents.

    Reason why:
    Your upload will be used to verify your personal details. Furthermore, the information will be used to make sure your name and date of birth on your diploma(s) correspond with the personal pages of your passport/ID card. Therefore, if your personal details are not identical on both passport and educational documents please upload an official document with an explanation.

    Example:

  • Degree(s) Certificate(s)

    Instructions:
    Within your application, you will be asked to provide information regarding your previous education. In this section, you are able to be indicated up to 4 academic degrees. In case you have more than 4 degrees obtained, you might upload this by the final question, which is ‘additional educational documents'.

    Please be aware that a course is not seen as an academic degree, since it is normally having a duration of less than a year. In addition to that, a high school diploma is not required. The academic degrees which you should count are:

    • Associate Degree
    • Higher National Diploma/Certificate
    • National Diploma/Certificate
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Master’s degree
    • Doctorate degree (PhD)
    • Post-graduate degree
    • Advanced professional degree

    You can always apply, even when you still have to complete your degree(s) yet. You will be asked to provide us with the estimated date of completion. This date should be before the start of the academic year.

    In case you already graduated, please upload either an official graduation statement or official (provisional) degree(s) certificate(s) in the original language and officially translated in English or Dutch. If the original document is in English, Dutch or German you do not have to upload a translation. Please note: graduation statement or provisional degree certificate is valid for one year, starting the date of completion of your study.

    Please make sure your certificate includes your full name, date of birth, the official name of your diploma and institution’s name and logo.

    Reason why:
    Your upload will be used to verify if you have obtained your degree(s) at a recognized higher education institution. Furthermore, your diploma will be used to assess the level of your education, as each country has a different educational system.

    Example:

  • Transcript of Records of Your Degree(s)

    Instructions:
    Within the application process you will be asked to provide us with the following documents:

    • An official copy of the final transcript of records, or
    • If you still have to pass your degree(s), you can upload the most recent transcript of records.
    • In addition to that, if you have done an exchange period during your degree, please upload the official transcript of records from the other institutions as well.

    Please note: the transcript of records needs to be uploaded in the original language and the official translation in English or Dutch. You do not have to upload a translation if the original document is in English, Dutch or German.

    Please make sure your transcript of records includes your full name, date of birth (preferable), the official name of your diploma and the institution’s name and logo. If your transcript consists of multiple documents, please combine these documents into one document in chronological order.

    Diploma Supplement

    We prefer to see copies of your complete diploma supplement (every page) if you have one. Graduates in more than 40 countries have the right to receive the Diploma Supplement automatically, check diploma supplement example documents.

    Reason why:
    Your upload will be used to assess the grades that you have obtained during your study. Furthermore, the upload will be used to gain more insight into the courses of your programme and the length of your previous degree.

    Example:

  • CGPA and Grading Scale of Your Degree(s)

    Instructions:

    If your transcript of records does not state your final/temporary CGPA and grading scale, we ask you to upload the following document(s). If your transcript of records does hold this information you can upload your transcript of records again.

    • An official document with the grading system of your university/college. This may also be a document written by yourself with a web link to your university's grading scale, as long as it is an official source. This information has to be in Dutch/English.
    • If your final/current CGPA is not mentioned on your transcript of records, please upload an official statement from the institution with your final/current CGPA.

    Reason why:
    Some transcript of records does not show the CGPA at all or do show the CGPA but not the grading scale. For example, on a transcript is a CGPA mentioned of 3.2 – but out of how many? Therefore, we ask you to upload an additional document with the final CGPA and the grading scale.

    Possible admission is among other things based on your CGPA, therefore the CGPA is needed. It does not matter if you still have to pass your degree, in that situation we will use your most recent CGPA.

    Example 1:
    When your grading scale is not mentioned on your transcript of records, but your CGPA is, you can upload a document written by yourself or a document from your institution explaining the grading scale. See the two examples below.

    Example 2:
    This document is provided by your institution (therefore, the layout depends on your institution). This has to be on official stationery containing at least the following data:

    • Full name of the graduate, date and place of birth;
    • Obtained title and programme or yet to obtain;
    • CGPA and grading scale;
    • Signature and title of the authorized person of the graduate institute.

  • Additional Documents for students with a Chinese degree(s)
