Are there demo/example MS Teams available with all the best practices and tips & tricks? So all UT staff can get inspiration, before organising and structuring their own teams. For example, a 'Project Example' MS Teams, a 'Department Example' MS Teams etc. Or do you know of projects and/or teams/departments that make great use of the MS teams features? | We currently do not have examples. For business users of Teams, every organization can create templates that users can select to start a Team. Unfortunately, this has not yet been made available for Microsoft Education environments. Our advice would be to create your own test Team to test the apps we covered in the webinar and delete them afterward. |
Where is Teams data stored? | Teams uses the Microsoft Cloud, which is configured to place the data within the EU Data Boundary. |
What about Loop components? Will that functionality be available for all too in the future? | Loop has just been released, but Microsoft has not yet shared information about Loop for Education customers. In the meantime, we are looking into Loop and on what level we should support Loop when it becomes available for Microsoft Education 365 users. |
Is there any way to collaborate through Teams simultaneously in a Word document opened in Word itself? In Teams it works (Word plugin), but that doesn't have as many features, such as a reference manager. | In Teams, you can set Word, PowerPoint and Excel to open in the application installed on your system. These applications also have support for collaborating on file with other people at the same time. Change this under Settings > Files and Links > File open preference |
Do you know if Teams ever plans to change the URL of the files to match the teams/channel name? Now when you change a channel name, all files keep the old name in the URL, which is very confusing. | By default, the URL is not changed when renaming a Team. Should this still be necessary, a request can be made to have the SharePoint Site Address URL changed. This change will take 10 minutes. Once SharePoint has implemented this, the old URL will redirect to the new one. |
Can I easily convert an existing SharePoint to a Teams environment? | A SharePoint on-premise site (with the url https://sharepoint.utwente.nl) is not easy to convert. If it is a SharePoint online site, you can press "Add Microsoft Teams" at the bottom left to add a Team to it. |
Can I (partially) merge Teams or a part of another Team? | Unfortunately, this is not possible. |
Many people still work (out of habit) on the p-drive with projects and departments. Is it advisable to transfer as many files as possible to Teams, because after all, it works much easier? So stop using p-drive as soon as possible? When do you still use p-drive? | Using Teams has pros and cons, as do network drives. Visit https://ut.onl/storage for an overview. |
Is the 1TB storage limit per person or per created Team? | This limit is per created Team. |
Can I easily delete a list of (old) users from a Team (e.g. student from the previous study year, there are more than 100) | Unfortunately, there is no easy way to delete multiple users at once. |
