For employees
Each UT employee has access to SURFdrive, provided by SURF (Samenwerkende Universiteiten Reken Faciliteiten).
At commencement of employment an employee account is created (account provisioning) to provide access to the service. The access is blocked following termination of employment and the data is automatically deleted. SURFdrive is not suitable for storing project data, organisational data or research data.
Specifications
- Uses cloud storage (SURF (NL)). A processing agreement has been entered into with SURF, rendering the environment GDPR proof;
- Does not include antivirus defences, ransomware protection or backup options;
- 1TB data area;
- Files can be recovered (recycle bin) and previous versions can be restored;
- Can be used offline;
- Files can be shared with both internal and external users;
- eduVPN is not required.
