Menno Veldhorst - PhD Alumnus

Menno Veldhorst currently works at QuTech, a Dutch institute where TUDelft and TNO research groups develop quantum computers and other quantum technology. According to the Physics World journal, his postdoctoral work on silicon was among the ten most groundbreaking physics works of 2015.

“I chose UT because of the small-scale campus environment, with housing, studying and sport at a single location. Also due to the ease of contact with teaching and research staff. Through my UT connections I got in contact with the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. The move to Delft QuTech allowed me to apply the physics I learned at UT and the experimental skills learned at UNSW in an industrial context. I remain in contact with both the Australian research group and with the UT professors. Moreover, our current work makes use of UT expertise. I consider such cooperation to be essential”.
