Plan an online meet-up with a student

Get equipped to become a teacher in secondary (Dutch) education and share your knowledge of science subjects in school!

Teachers play an important role in the development of children and young adults – and can even be a determining factor for their future. You probably had a teacher yourself as well whose lessons you still remember vividly – and who may have even inspired you to choose a particular study. Would you like to fulfil this multifaceted and crucial role yourself? Do you have a passion for a science subject, such as mathematics, chemistry, physics, informatics, or the Dutch school subject ‘onderzoek & ontwerpen’? And do you want to share your knowledge and enthusiasm with students at Dutch secondary schools? Then the Master’s in Science Education at the University of Twente is the teacher education programme for you!

This (partly) Dutch-taught programme will prepare you for a job as a teacher in mathematics, chemistry, physics, informatics or the Dutch school subject ‘onderzoek & ontwerpen’. After graduation, you will have a first-degree teaching qualification that enables you to teach all types of secondary education in the Netherlands, including upper-level HAVO (senior general secondary education) and VWO (pre-university secondary education).
