Expand your expertise with a double degree.
As a student of the Master’s in Public Administration at the University of Twente, you have the opportunity to pursue a second Master’s degree through our double degree programmes. These programmes allow you to combine Public Administration with another discipline, providing a multidisciplinary perspective on complex societal challenges.
The Master’s in Public Administration offers two double degree programmes: one in collaboration with the Master’s in Philosophy of Science, Technology & Society and one in the field of Policy, Governance and Communication in collaboration with the Master’s in Communication Science.

- Master of Science in Communication Science
Structure and how to apply
For both double degree programmes:
- You will follow courses from both Master’s programmes.
- You will complete the programme by writing a joint Master’s thesis.
- You must apply separately to each Master’s programme and meet the admission requirements of both.
The duration of the double degree programme is:
- Two years (120 EC) for the Public Administration & PSTS programme.
- 1.5 years (90 EC) for the Policy, Governance and Communication programme
What is a Double Degree?
In a Double Degree programme, you follow two different Master’s programmes simultaneously and write one integrated Master’s thesis that fulfills the requirements of both degrees. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded two separate diplomas.
Because you complete both programmes at the same time, the total study duration is shorter than if you were to pursue them one after the other.
