DID YOU OBTAIN YOUR BACHELOR'S AT UT OR ANOTHER RESEARCH UNIVERSITY? AND ARE YOU WONDERING IF YOU CAN TRANSFER TO THIS MASTER'S AT UT?

Perhaps you need to take the Pre-Master's first to prepare yourself for the Master's in Communication Science. Whether you are admissible, depends on your previous education. You can check below if you can enrol in the (Pre-)Master's in Communication Science with your bachelor's degree.

Required diplomas or knowledge
As a student from a Dutch University, direct access to the Master’s degree programme in Communication Science will depend on the subjects you have taken during your Bachelor’s programme.
1. Students with a university bachelor degree in Communication Science or Communication and Information Studies from a Dutch Research University are directly admissible to the Master’s in Communication Science.
2. Students with a university bachelor degree that is not in Communication Science or Communication and Information Studies typically have to take a pre-master before starting the Master’s Communication Science. The pre-master programme is a bridging programme in which you will gain the domain specific knowledge and skills you need for successful participation in the master’s programme. The length of the pre-master's programme contains 15 to 30 EC depending on your prior knowledge.

In all cases, the admission committee will conduct an individual assessment procedure to determine if you have sufficient basic qualifications in Communication Science. So, if you have completed another programme of which you hesitate if it is enough related, you can still apply for admission.

Didn't graduate yet?

You may be granted conditional acceptance based on your transcripts, detailed curriculum information, relevant research and expected graduation date. To finally be enrolled in the (Pre-)Master's, you do need to submit your bachelor's degree, once you have obtained this. You can also start your application when you have obtained a bachelor's or master's degree at UT in the past.

Need to follow a Pre-Master's first?

You don't need to sign up for the Pre-Master's itself. You apply by signing up for this Master's. UT will alter this to a Pre-Master's registration. Once you are admitted, you get access to the Pre-Master's automatically.
