As part of the strategic partnership between the University of Twente and the University of Muenster, the Executive Boards of the two universities have expressed their mutual goal to stimulate strategic joint research initiatives to enhance international collaboration as well as educating and supporting young researchers.
The UT—WWU Strategic Collaboration Grant scheme aims at supporting ambitious joint research initiatives that have high potential to (1) strengthen the bond between both universities, (2) achieve excellent scientific results that have an impact on society and (3) lead to applications for third-party funding. The UT—WWU Strategic Collaboration Grant comprises up to € 80k (for max. 12 months) to either kickstart or intensify bilateral high-level research cooperation. The grant should be used to fund the preparation of a joint application for a high-level research collaboration project.
The Collaboration Grant for Young Researcher Projects scheme aims at supporting projects realized by young researchers who pursue their PhD within a collaborative joint research team and project, thus benefitting significantly from the two synergistic research environments of WWU and UT. Each university will grant a UT—WWU Young Researcher Grant that comprises up to € 50k per year for up to four years. Applications are to be submitted by senior researchers who would act as supervisors for the PhD-students who conduct the research project.
