NWO GRANTS DAY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TWENTE

NWO and the Grants Office of the University of Twente will host a grants day for researchers who are interested to know more about NWO funding instruments. The main target group is early and mid-career researchers, obviously not excluding PhD researchers and others who are interested to know more about NWO and NWO funding instruments. The programme consists of four separate sessions, allowing you to join all four sessions or to join sessions that are of particular interest to you.
We aim to familiarize you with NWO’s vision/ambition and funding instruments in order to be able to understand what is needed for a competitive application. During the sessions you will have the chance to ask questions that your are particularly want an answer to.
The sessions are:
- The Dutch funding landscape, and NWO's vision, ambition, and funding lines
- NWO research funding instruments
- Theory of change and impact plan
- Valorisation and innovation instruments
THE PROGRAMME
The programme
Session 1: Dutch research funding landscape and NWO funding lines (10.00 - 11.00)
- Welcome and introduction of the programme. (10min)
- Welcome and explanation of the Dutch funding landscape (the NWA, KIAs, Mission-Driven Innovation, Topsectoren). (10 min)

- Five minute coffee break
Session 2: NWO funding instruments (11.00 – 12.00)
- NWO funding instruments: consortia instruments and valorisation/knowledge transfer instruments of NWO. When do I apply for which instruments during my career?

Session 3: Valorisation and innovation instruments (13.00 – 13.45)
- Valorisation and innovation instruments
- What opportunities are there to support the transfer of my knowledge to society? In this session we will discuss the different funding options and the support Novel-T can provide you.

Session 4: NWO Impact pathway (13.45 – 14.30)
- Theory of change and impact plan
- Many NWO instruments require a plan for scientific, societal and/or economic impact. How do you create a solid impact plan?
