Get support in choosing a master’s

As a graduate of the Master’s in Educational Science & Technology, you have acquired three specific sets of competencies you will not find in other similar programmes. You can become a researcher, an educational designer or a consultant - or merge all three into your own personal career path. You can also start up your own business as a consultant, for example. Or you can opt to further develop yourself by continuing with a PhD-programme.

Type of degree

When you have graduated with this Master’s, you will receive a Master’s degree in Educational Science & Technology. Also, you can title yourself Master of Science (MSc).

Job opportunities

With the skills and knowledge you will acquire in the Master’s in Educational Science & Technology, many doors will open to you, whether it’s in the field of Human Resource Development or the field of Education. After graduation, you will have excellent job prospects in a variety of settings, for example, educational or training consultancy firms, educational publishers, corporate HR departments, schools, or the government sector.

The types of functions you could take on are also highly varied. You could focus on educational design, research or consultancy. There are actually many jobs in which you can combine these elements. Examples of jobs you could pursue include corporate trainer, educational or programme adviser, course developer, e-learning designer, school inspector, educational policymaker, developer of educational software or serious games, education and training quality coordinator or training consultant, and the list goes on.

Start a business

As a graduate in Educational Science & Technology, you could start up a business in educational software, begin your own consultancy agency and/or team up with other freelancers in NetOO, the Dutch network for educationalists, to name some examples. Continue as a researcher: obtain a PhD

Instead of pursuing a professional career right away after obtaining your Master’s degree, you can opt to follow a PhD programme at Twente Graduate School (TGS). This involves spending four years studying a particular research area in-depth at one of our research institutes. Obtaining your PhD earns you the title of Doctor (Dr).
