UT from now on participant in Data Science programme within EIT Digital Master School

UT is now an official participant in the Data Science Master's programme of the EIT Digital Master School. Together with top-ranked universities all over Europe, they expect to train about 150 students a year to MSc in Data Science. With 40 students, the UT has the largest number of students in the Netherlands this year.

As of 1 September 2020, the University of Twente offers the possibility of a so-called 'double degree' in Data Science. In two years, students will follow their MSc programme at two different universities and will obtain two diplomas. The programme is part of the EIT Digital Master School. Registration is now possible until February third.

EIT Digital Master School

The UT participates in three programmes within the EIT Digital Master School: Cyber Security, Human Computer Interaction Design (I-Tech) and – starting next year - Data Science. The EIT Digital Master School is a collaboration between different top-ranked European universities. The Data Science programme is organised with 8 other universities.

Every year, more and more MSc students follow an EIT Digital Master School programme at the UT. In 2013 the UT started with 7 students, but this year, with 40 students the UT has the largest number of all Dutch participating universities. Jan Schut, coordinator of the EIT Digital Master School on behalf of the UT, says: "The courses are very attractive for ambitious students; you study at two different universities, you follow courses in innovation and entrepreneurship, and you meet on regular basis with all l 400 students to build up a large, international network."
