Our International Relations & Partnerships team (IRP) forms the strategic hub of expert knowledge relating to the internationalization of higher education. As such there is close cooparation with our colleagues at SP's internationalization cluster on several dossiers.
IRP's focus is on UT wide inter-institutional agreements, advice on the optimization of governance, new mobility opportunities and (new) scholarship programmes for (non) degree seekers (Ba/Ma/PhD) and staff. The team's responsibilities include, amongst others, the overall growth and diversification of scholarship programmes (over 100 different major sources), the exploration of new models for financial support, the full scope of the Erasmus+ programme and the Bologna process at the UT and in the Netherlands.
The future of Erasmus+
The UT is represented with its Institutional Erasmus Coordinator and Bologna Expert, dr. Inge Broekman, in a stakeholder conference on the upcoming Erasmus+ programme (2021-2027). During this meeting on 28-29 January 2020, the European commission discussed new ideas for the programme, fine-tuned draft documents and gathered feedback from the different stakeholders.
Internationalization, international collaboration and partnerships are key priorities for the University of Twente, which requires best practices and the available knowledge and expertise to be shared within and outside the university. Our UT country coordinators disseminate knowledge on Australia and Mexico, and on international strategic partner universities (ISP). They create synergies within the UT and strategic value in our collaboration with international partners.
