The University of Twente is working to become a sustainable organization. It is our mission to respond to societal needs by developing sustainable, proactive measures to support our planet and the people to which it is home. And as a university, we lead by example. Our education, research, innovation and the way we run our own organisation are centered around environmental, social and economic sustainability.
SUSTAINABILITY at UT
At UT, sustainability is a pivotal concern: we want sustainability to be a precondition for everything we do. Together with our students, researchers, suppliers and other partners, we take action to make this a reality. We produce actionable knowledge and innovation to address climate challenges, promote social equity, and recognize planetary boundaries – not only in our research and education, but also in our day to day operations.
Becoming a sustainable organization requires an integrated approach: we do it together with all members of our community. Various departments take the lead in their own domain to make our university -and the world- a more sustainable place, crossing boundaries to work together when beneficial. Learn about what each department does to make UT a more sustainable organization, how to contact them - and what you can do to help.
