The WHW (sections 7.12; 7.12a and 9.15 paragraph 1 member 3) gives the dean the resposibility to establish an examination board for each degree programme or group of degree programmes, and appoint members based on their expertise in the field of the relevant degree programme or group of degre programmes (R&G art. 1.1 par. 3).

requirements members
A member of the Examination Board EEMCS:
- is able to show proof of some expertise in the area of assessment in the form of one of belows' certifications or is in the process of obtaining one in short term:
- University Teaching Qualification (UTQ/ BKO) or equivalent
- Senior Examination Qualification (SEQ/ SKE) or equivalent
- Faculty Teaching Registration (Facultaire Onderwijs Aantekening)
- has expertise in the field of the relevant degree programmes of the OXIE he or she takes place in;
- has knowledge of the curricula of the degree programmes;
- is a member of the scientific personell (WP) of the University of Twente;
- preferrably, has a teaching position in one or more of the degree programmes for at least three years;
- preferrably, will complete a professionalization course (e.g. SEQ/ SKE) within its first year of membership of the Examination Board EEMCS.

The Examination Board EEMCS consists of a general sub-committee (AXIE) and seven programme-related sub-committees (OXIE). When nominating and appointing new members, the following guidelines must be kept in mind.

Guidelines for the composition of the OXIE's are:
- 3 members consisting out of a chair and two general members;
- Members of the institutional administration or persons otherwise having financial responsibility will not be appointed.

Guidelines for the composition of the AXIE are:
- a chair who does not take place in one of the OXIE;
- the chairs of the OXIE's;
- one external member, he or she is not involved with an EEMCS study programme as an examiner;
- members of the institutional administration or persons otherwise having financial responsibility will not be appointed;
- preferrably, one of the members of the AXIE has expertise in testing and assessment.
appointment procedures
In case of a vacancy in an OXIE the programme director nominates an examiner of his or her programme for the position of member of the Examination Board of the respective OXIE to the dean. The dean will then appoint the examiner as member of the Examination Board EEMCS (R&G art. 1.1 par. 2).
The position of chair of the AXIE is generally taken up by one of the experienced chairs of one of the OXIE's, which will then become vacant. The vacant position of an OXIE chair is generally taken up by one of the experienced general members of the respective OXIE.
