Admission TO THE Bachelor's programme Technical Computer Science


Students from outside the Netherlands should have a pre-university secondary education comparable to the Dutch VWO diploma, with high passing grades in Mathematics as a required subject. As the programme is taught entirely in English, a high level of English proficiency (CEFR, B2/C1 level; minimum IELTS score of 6.0, or equivalent) is also required. Are you an international student and is your secondary education not comparable to the Dutch VWO diploma? However, you would like to take this programme? The University of Twente offer you the possibility to take a foundation year after which you will be admissible.

Note: you can find this Bachelor's programme in Studielink as 'Computer Science & Engineering'.


You will be directly admitted to the Bachelor’s programme in Technical Computer Science if you possess a Dutch VWO diploma with a profile in Natuur & Techniek. You may also be eligible to start the programme with another profile, if it includes Wiskunde B.

If you don't have Wiskunde B in your profile, there are a number of possibilities for you to show that you are at the same level as vwo Wiskunde B:

If you possess a German Abitur, you can gain admission to the programme if you have studied English and Mathematics to Abitur level. Please note it is not necessary to have taken these subjects as Leistungskurs.
