Summary

The goal of this project is to improve the identification or individualization of persons, whose face is not, or insufficient, visible on guarding cameras. The method is on the one hand based on measurements of the body (antropometry), such as length, shoulder breadth, posture, and on the other hand on the measurements of body-specific characteristics such as the colour of the skin and hair, or the way of walking. The research thus aims at:

1.

Reliable extraction of quantitative antropometric and other body characteristics from video images of guarding cameras

2.

Determination of inter- and intrasubject variability of these characteristics

3.

Determination of the evidential value of these images in likelihood ratios

4.

Increase of the proof value by combining all the data

5.

Availibilty of the developed technology for detection and evidence
