Marijn Jongerden, former PhD-student of the DACS group who graduated December 10, 2010 has acquired the prestigeous German MMB (Messung, Modellierung und Bewertung von Rechensystemen) Award 2012 of the GI/ITG-Committee for Measurement, Modelling and Evaluation of Computing Systems. He received it for outstanding research in his PhD-thesis on Model-based energy analysis of battery powered systems (Promotor: Prof. Boudewijn Haverkort, co-promotor: Prof. Joost-Pieter Katoen).
The PhD-research deals with the energy efficient use of wearable battery-powered devices. It was carried out within the context of the SRO Dependable Systems & Networks (DSN). The last two years of the research were co-funded by the ITEA2-project GEODES, in cooperation with Thales Huizen. It resulted in several publications at a.o., the IEEE Dependable Systems and Networks Conference (2) and in journals (2). Since mid-2011 Marijn Jongerden is working at NEDAP, Groenlo.
The award will be presented on March 21, 2012 at the The 16th International GI/ITG Conference on Measurement, Modelling and Evaluation of Computing Systems and Dependability and Fault Tolerance in Kaiserslautern.
CTIT congratulates Marijn with this outstanding award!
