In Memoriam: Fabian de Bree On Tuesday we received the tragic news of the sudden death of our student Fabian de Bree.

With great sadness and sorrow, we learned of the sudden passing of our master’s student Fabian de Bree. He passed away on Monday 10 January 2022. Fabian was only 22 years old.

Fabian started with a bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering in 2018. Last summer, he successfully graduated, and in September, he started with a master's degree. We appreciated Fabian as a committed and active student, with a critical and academic mindset. Fellow students describe Fabian as a talented young man who had a good sense of humour. With a creative, open and curious approach, he was always willing to help others. Both students and teachers enjoyed working with him. Fabian will be deeply missed.

Soon, a book of condolence will be placed in the TechMed Centre, in which students, teachers and colleagues will have the opportunity to express their condolences or share a personal memory of Fabian.

We will keep Fabian, his family, friends, fellow students and those close to him in our thoughts. We send our heartfelt condolences in this time of great loss.
