Smooth transfer per 1 September 2020

In the context of COVID-19 it is possible, under certain conditions, to make use of the so called ‘smooth transfer’ from bachelor’s or pre-master’s programme to a master’s programme per 1 September 2020. This means that you may be allowed to start with a master’s programme even if you have not yet completed your bachelor’s or pre-master’s programme.

If you want to claim for the COVID-19 temporary smooth transfer, please take the following steps:

a.    Arrange your re-enrolment per 1 September 2020 of your current UT-bachelor’s or pre-master’s programme in Studielink.

b.    In case of a bachelor’s programme: please arrange the payment of your tuition fee as well. Without the payment of your tuition fee, we cannot enrol you. In case of a pre-master’s programme: as you have already paid the amount at the beginning of this programme you do not have to arrange payment for this again.

c.     Please make a request of enrolment in Studielink for the master’s programme of your choice.

d.    Contact the study adviser or the master’s coordinator at the faculty as soon as possible. The programme assesses if you are eligible for the smooth transfer.

If the faculty agrees with your smooth transfer to the master’s programme: Student Services will receive your details from the faculty and will process your request for enrolment for the (conditional) master’s programme next to your bachelor’s or pre-master’s programme.

In case you are a pre-master student next to the conditional master’s enrolment: please arrange the payment of your tuition fee for the master’s programme as soon as possible in Studielink.

In case you are a bachelor student next to the conditional master’s enrolment: you must have arranged your tuition fee in Studielink already for the bachelor’s programme. If you haven’t already done this, please do so as soon as possible.

For international students who owe the institutional tuition fee: mind that for the master’s programme you owe the master’s amount of tuition fee. In concrete terms this means that the tuition fee for the bachelor’s programme will be increased to the amount you owe for the master’s programme.

If the faculty does not agree with a smooth transfer, then you do not meet the conditions for this transfer, meaning you will not be able to enrol in the master’s programme per 1 September 2020. Only after you graduated officially for the bachelor’s programme or officially passed the pre-master’s programme, you are allowed to enrol in the master’s programme (as per the usual bachelor’s-before-master’s ruling).
