Application, admission and enrolment process
Matching is a way for you, as a prospective student, and us, the TCS programme, to get mutually acquainted. The matching procedure offers you some insights into our programme, study materials and learning style. At the end of the matching procedure, you will receive a non-binding advice from the TCS programme. This advice informs you about how well we feel you match to the TCS programme in terms of content and expectations and whether you have the motivation and learning skills for the programme. Our advice and your experience from the matching procedure will help you decide whether to study TCS or to look for a different study programme.
Admission process
Step 1 | Apply via Studielink and Osiris (deadline 30 April 2026 23:59 CET)
Information on how to register via Studielink can be found on the general enrolment and admission page. After registering in Studielink, follow the instructions on how to finalise your registration in the university system Osiris.
Deadline completion registration Studielink and Osiris: 30 April 2026 23:59 CET
After registration via Studielink and Osiris, you will receive a reply from our admission office about whether you are conditionally admitted or not. If you are considered conditionally admitted, you may continue to the next step of the mandatory selection procedure.
Please be aware completing your registration in Studielink and Osiris takes time. So, start your registration via Studielink at least a couple of weeks before the date of your preferred matching event.
Step 2 | Complete mandatory matching procedure
After your registration via Studielink and Osiris and being (conditionally) admitted, you will receive an e-mail with more detailed information on the matching procedure.
Shortly after the matching event you participated in, you will receive advice from us about your match to the TCS programme. This advice is non-binding which means that you can still decide to terminate the enrolment after receiving a positive advice, or to finalise the enrolment after receiving a negative advice. Enrolment after receiving a negative advice will be at your own risk.
Step 3 | Finalise enrolment
After receiving our non-binding advice, make sure to continue your enrolment by uploading the required documents, as outlined in our admission requirements, before the given deadlines.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, participation in the matching procedure is mandatory for all applicants for Technical Computer Science. The matching is not a selection process, but a way to find out whether the programme suits you. After applying for the Bachelor's in Technical Computer Science via Studielink, you’ll receive an invitation and more detailed instructions about the procedure.
On this page, you can find more information about the matching process.

Thank you for your feedback
No, the matching procedure is not an admission test. Your grades or prior knowledge, such as programming experience or high school rates, do not influence the outcome. The main purpose is to help you discover if the programme is a good fit for you. After you apply in Studielink, you will be invited and informed about the next steps.

No. You don’t need any programming experience to take part, though it might help during the procedure and later as a Technical Computer Sciece student.
Your high school grades don’t affect the outcome either, they’re just needed to complete your application.
Students with a Dutch nationality need a Dutch VWO diploma with a Science & Technology or Science & Health profile, including Mathematics B. International students must have an equivalent diploma and demonstrate English proficiency.
Tuition fees for Technical Computer Science (Bèta programme) depend on your nationality.
Tuition fees for EU/EEA students
If you are a national of an EU/EEA country, it is likely you need to pay the so-called ‘statutory tuition fee’. This fee is determined and subsidised by the Dutch government and will be adjusted each academic year. The statutory tuition fee applies to most, but not all students from EU/EEA countries and/or bachelor’s (also see ‘Institutional tuition fee’). Visit the website of Student Services for detailed payment conditions.
Overview of statutory tuition fees for this Bachelor's
2025-2026 (Sep-Aug)
€ 2,601 per year
2026-2027(Sep-Aug)
€ 2,695 per year
Tuition fees for non-EU/EEA students
If you are a national of a non-EU/EEA country, you will need to pay the so-called 'institutional fee'. This fee is higher than the statutory fee because Dutch universities do not receive government funding for non-EU/EEA students. Visit the website of Student Services for detailed payment conditions.
Overview of institutional tuition fees for this Bachelor's
2025-2026 (Sep-Aug)
€ 13,000per year

You can register for both programmes via Studielink. To join the double degree programme, you need to meet the admission requirements for both study programmes. This means you’ll need to complete the mandatory matching procedure for Technical Computer Science. Without completing this procedure, you won’t be able to participate in the Double Degree programme.

Enrolment for the upcoming academic year is only possible through the Dutch national enrolment system, Studielink, which closes on 1 May at 23:59 CET. If you were unable to enrol before this deadline due to unforeseen circumstances, you can submit a substantiated request to the Admission Office as soon as possible after 30 April. Your request should be accompanied by one or two pieces of supporting evidence.

Registration and enrolment are two distinct steps.
You register for a programme via Studielink. After that, several steps are required to demonstrate your eligibility, including completing a matching procedure.
Enrolment takes place once you have received the advice and completed all steps of the enrolment process, with payment of the tuition fee being an essential part of it.
If you cannot find the answers to your questions about admission and enrolment, please contact the UT Admission Office by email. For questions about the matching procedure, please reach out to the TCS programme.
