The A-level (Advanced Level) is a General Certificate of Education qualification in the United Kingdom and other British oriented countries, taken by students in the final two years of secondary education and after completion of the IGCSE or GCSE exams. You have to provide us with at least 3 GCSE's with an A,B or C grade and 3 full GCE's (A2) with an A, B or C grade. The subject(s) mentioned below is/are compulsory.
Students who can supply us with an English GCSE or GCE O-, AS-, or A-level with an A, B or C grade may be exempted from the English language requirements.
See the language requirements page for more information.
The University of Twente is aware of the fact that some schools in the UK hand out the GCE A-levels later than the official deadline for the application at our University. We accept a stamped and signed statement from the school with name, date of birth and passing date of the exam until the GCE A-level certificates have been received.
The full Cambridge International Pre-University Diploma is equivalent to the Dutch vwo pre-university diploma and will also give access to most bachelor programmes of the University of Twente. A combination of Cambridge Pre-U principal subjects and GCE A-levels is also possible.
