November Look Out of Transitioning towards Resilient Multimodal Corridors using Digital Twinning Blog Update on Progress and Collaborations

Join Us at the Risk & Resilience Festival – 7th November

On 7th November, our consortium will be participating in the Risk & Resilience Festival with a session titled: "Resilient Logistic Corridors: Developing a Digital Twin for the Twentekanalen."

In this session, Anne-Ruth Scheijgrond and Sebastian Piest will share insights from our ongoing research project, and we invite you to collaborate with us in exploring how we can strengthen the resilience of our logistics infrastructure.

In 2018 and 2022, droughts caused significant disruptions to inland shipping on the Twentekanalen, resulting in millions of euros in losses for water-dependent businesses. In response, a consortium was established in 2023 to develop a digital twin, enabling us to monitor water levels, infrastructure, and logistical movements. During our session, we will present the first results and discuss how collaboration and leadership can contribute to a climate-resilient future.

Location: University of Twente, Enschede
