Advancing the role of operations research and management in health and care: recent developments and examples from the UK
Synopsis
The Centre for Healthcare Innovation & Improvement (CHI2) at the University of Bath was launched in early 2015 with the overarching vision is to improve the design, delivery and organisation of health and social care services through high quality interdisciplinary research. It is a multi-disciplinary research centre that is focused on solving the practical challenges of health and social care systems. It leads and explores applied health research projects using a mixed methods approach while adopting a flexible and collaborative outlook to the choice and framing of the research problems and to the research methods and modelling techniques used. In this talk I will present examples of current research projects and national initiatives that aim to advance the role of operations research and management in health and care in the UK.
