Data analysis of the Radiology department of Rijnstate Hospital: walk-in CT in practice.
Synopsis
The Rijnstate Hospital implemented a walk-in CT system for patients to increase efficiency, while optimizing access time. Multiple literature studies indicated that a walk-in system would increase waiting times, but these studies did not test an actual implementation. The Rijnstate introduced the new system in 2010 and gathered years of data about the waiting and access times at the Radiology department. Thorough data analysis of the patient data indicated that the walk-in system is preferred over a full appointment system. Marjanne Luinstra was responsible for the data analysis part of this research and shares the methodology and most important findings of the study.
