Empatica e4 is phased out
Following the launch of EmbracePlus and the Empatica Health Monitoring Platform, the E4 wristband will be withdrawn from the market.
Its services are no longer available. This regards the E4 wristband and its software suite (E4 connect, E4 manager, E4 realtime, E4 streaming server, and E4 SDK). Ongoing research projects can access the E4 Cloud data services until February 14th, 2025. This means that you will be able to upload sessions to E4 Connect, and access those sessions with your usual login details until that date. Empatica hopes this gives you time to download your data and ensure that your studies are concluded smoothly.
Please read the following important information to ensure you are prepared for the discontinuation:
- Download your data before February 14th, 2025: As the E4 Connect portal will no longer be accessible after February 14th, 2025, sessions will need to be downloaded prior to this date. If you need help downloading a large number of sessions, reach out to the Empatica team or contact The BMS Lab.
- Hardware support ended on August 1st, 2024: Please note that Empatica will no longer be able to perform repairs due to limited availability of E4 components. Their Support Center remains a trusted resource for any E4 questions you might have.
The BMS Lab is now working on the upgrade to the EmbracePlus.
