1 Jul 2016 - Positive decision Master Environmental and Energy Management
The UT has received a positive ministerial decree on macro-efficiency for the Master’s in Environmental and Energy Management (MEEM). In Friesland, the CSTM is providing the NVAO accredited MEEM master's in the 2015-2016 academic year for the 17th time, as yet without regular funding. The non-funded master's programme has trained more than 300 international students representing more than 40 different nationalities from all over the world.
21 Jun 2016 - “Bioenergy can support food security and sustainable development”
Bioenergy development and food security can be simultaneously improved, contrary to the popular belief that biofuels displace food crops, according to a report released by an international, multidisciplinary team of experts from 10 institutions, with prof. dr. Joy Clancy of the University of Twente as one of the co-authors.
21 Jun 2016 - UNESCO nomination for University of Twente sustainability course
University of Twente's short course programme Designing Green Climate Fund Projects (ICREP) has been nominated for the UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development. The course, which is introduced by the Department of Governance and Technology for Sustainability, aims at educating staff from professional and public organizations in the fields of clean energy access, environment and climate change.
8 Jun 2016 - CSTM Course nominated for UNESCO/Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)
CSTM’s Course ‘Formulating Project Proposals for Climate Change Mitigation and Clean Energy’ (ICREP) has been nominated by the Netherlands UNESCO Committee for the UNESCO/Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The Prize honours outstanding projects by individuals, institutions and organizations related to ESD.

23 Feb 2016 - Launch of revised ICREP course
Our short course ICREP, which contributes to continuous professional development in the energy sector, has been running for 33 years and we decided it was time for a makeover. We’ve moved from a five week classroom model to a ‘blended’ model with 8 week part-time online (e-learning) and 2 week classroom format. The first webinar was held on 24th February. The 15 participants will meet every week virtually and face to face for the first time on 18th April in the University.
15 Feb 2016 - Launch Project kick-starts partnership with Stevens
Not getting bogged down by endless discussions on how to cooperate effectively, but just doing it. That is the foundation for the partnership between University of Twente and the American Stevens Institute of Technology that had its kick-off a week ago at the University of Twente. The 'Urban Resilience' launch project aims to investigate how the two universities can sustainably support each other.
