Personal information

Onno Bokhove is a Applied Mathematician "British style" mixing mathematical and numerical analysis, and challenging applications with insightful laboratory experiments, to advance science.

This includes:

·

Mathematical analysis of partial differential equations (PDE's), in particular hyperbolic ones with shocks.

·

Mathematical theory of variational and Hamiltonian dynamics for PDE's, especially fluids,

and numerical discretization.

·

Computational Fluid Mechanics and numerical analysis.

·

Challenging and inspiring geophysical applications in volcanology, granular flows, coastal

and atmospheric dynamics.

·

Laboratory experiments to stay down-to-Earth, in: granular, hydraulic & slurry flows.
