History of Collaboration
Since late ’70s, ITC collaborates with several Chinese universities and institutes. And since late 80’s other UT-faculties/research groups start to collaborate with Chinese partners. Most of those collaborations was initiated through good personal relationships, either via former UT-PhD students, now working at Chinese universities, or through contacts during international scientific conferences.
University of Science and Technology of China (USTC)
The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), established in 1958, is affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). USTC students can do research in CAS institutes and scientists from CAS institutes teach and supervise graduate students in USTC. USTC is one of the top 5 universities in China.
In the period around 2010-2015 China has been selected as a focus country for the Netherlands and for UT. In that period USTC has recognized by the UT as a strategic partner.
