The UT Assessment Policy outlines how UT promotes the quality of assessment at every level of the organisation.

It forms the framework for assessment practice at UT.

Assessment is not only about grading, ranking, and classifying. It can also be used to provide students with guidance and feedback on their progress, as well as to show them how to improve. As a teacher, you can use it to evaluate your teaching and make adjustments. This site is specially designed for UT staff to provide information, tips, and ideas regarding testing and assessment. The Toolbox below provides you with the practical information and tools you need to ensure high-quality assessment, organized according to the steps of the assessment cycle.

Conferences | AEA-Europe The Association for Educational Assessment – Europe, organizes the 26th conference about assessment in education in Den Haag (the Netherlands). 5-8 nov. 2025 (going for fewer days is an option). A lot (!) of interesting topics, including AI & Assessment.

Regularly offered courses on assessment (for different target groups)

Testing & Assessment course (a.k.a. UTQ Assessment competence course / University Examination course / Basiskwalificatie Examinering)

CELT offers the UTQ Testing & Assessment course. Since Sept. 2024 a mandatory course for teachers following a UTQ trajectory. The course consists of 4 sessions and is completed by means of a report about one's own assessment practice. After a successful appraisal, participants will receive a partial UTQ certificate, also valid as a University Examination Qualification (UEQ) or in Dutch: Basiskwalificatie Examinering (BKE). Senior University Examination Qualification trajectory (SUEQ) or in Dutch Senior Kwalificatie Examinering (SKE)

The Senior University Examination Qualification trajectory (SUEQ) or in Dutch Senior Kwalificatie Examinering - SKE) is a professionalisation trajectory for staff involved in assuring or safeguarding the quality of assessment at programme level.
Such as: members of an Examination Board, programme directors, programme coordinators, quality assurance officers, educational advisors, and others with assessment-related tasks.

This trajectory will help participants develop knowledge and insights to influence and improve the way a programme cares for and safeguards the quality of assessment at the course and programme level. The trajectory will take approximately 100-120 hours over a period of about 9 months (from September to June). More information can be found [here].

Introduction to tasks and responsibilities for (new) Examination Board members

The Examination Board has an important and formal role in safeguarding the quality of assessments in a programme. But what does this entail in practice? In this two-hour course, you will learn about the specific role and tasks of the Examination Board, how to operate in daily practice, and how you can cooperate with other parties within the assessment organization.

The course is especially meant for new Examination Board members and is offered twice a year. Please consult the Coursefinder for the dates.

The T&A toolbox for teachers offers guidelines, formats, and tips for designing, administering, assessing, grading, and evaluating assessments. It is a useful reference website for those who have taken the Testing & Assessment course and want to look something up quickly. But also useful for all who like to refresh or supplement their knowledge of assessment practices.

For programme management and others with tasks and responsibilities at programme level, the new UT Assessment Policy website not only provides information on requirements for all stakeholders in the assessment process, but also offers support in the form of tools and examples. Courses and workshops on request

In addition to the regular offer, CELT can offer activities on request and tailor-made for all kinds of assessment themes for different target groups. Topics can be, for instance:
