Fabian Grunert and Masaki Sato participated in the LANXESS Talent Award contest

July 6th and 7th, 2017: 4th DWI/RWTH Aachen Summer School.

As already announced, Fabian Grunert had been nominated in the category “Innovations in Process Engineering” as one of the best five PhD students in the frame of the 4th DWI/RWTH Aachen Summer School, sponsored by the LANXESS Deutschland GmbH. He gave an excellent presentation titled “Prediction of in-rubber dispersibility of silica by analytical methods”. This PhD thesis is carried out in co-operation with Evonik Resource Efficiency GmbH.

Furthermore, Masaki Sato was selected as one of the top five candidates to present a poster in the same category “Innovations in Process Engineering”. He presented an excellent poster with the topic “Investigation of the silane-polymer reaction in a model system”. This PhD thesis is another example for a successful co-operation with the industry, in this case with Yokohama.

The contest was a big success, and even though the final winners came from other universities, Fabian and Masaki represented the University of Twente / Elastomer Technology and Engineering chair on a very high level. Thanks for all your efforts – it was really worth it!
