“Re-Think” Sulfur Curing A new chapter towards a greener rubber industrie

It is well known, investigated and accepted that sulfur curing requires a suitable activator system like ZnO and stearic acid.

What would you say if we tell you that this knowledge is outdated with regards to modern PCT treat compounds? What if we actually do not need activators at all?

Our newest publication "Re-Think" Sulfur curing not only questions the traditional curing mechanism but also shows, with the support of re-evaluating finding from various studies, that sulfur can do the job almost completely by its own undergoing a radical mechanism. Even the use of DPG can be avoided!

By leaving out ZnO formulations get less complex, less harmful ZnO species will be released to the environment and the abrasion resistance might be improved due to the absence of big undispersed ZnO particles.

Curious? Then please go ahead and have a look for yourself. Let this be a start of a new chapter towards a greener rubber industry.
